Yağız Mungan is a San Francisco-based interdisciplinary developer/artist. He combines ideas of interaction, VR/AR, games, generative systems, sound and interactive music to create works that poses critical questions or investigates new aesthetics and interactions. The works feature both the audience and the machine as active agents of the experience, hence creating something that is not possible in isolation.
In addition to his career as an interdisciplinary creator, Yağız has been with the agency world since 2013 where he employs his MFA and MS degrees to create interactive experiences, prototypes and explore/identify what is possible with emerging technologies, while working with high profile brands such as Nike, IBM and Audi. Currently, he is at Facebook's AR/VR org, working on the future.
Yağız’ personal works have been exhibited internationally including venues and events like SIGGRAPH, Balance-Unbalance Conference, Prague Quadrennial, 3D Web Fest and Soundwave Festival. His agency work appeared in billions of people's browsers, conferences like CES and MWC as well as flagship stores of multiple brands.
